For the past eight years, and one month before the festival, we are embarking on a journey of friendship, accompanied by part of the FITS team, and we are outlining a new edition of the Cultural Capital magazine dedicated exclusively to the Sibiu International Theatre Festival. We will talk to directors, actors, partners, and sponsors. We will aim to bring to readers those thoughts, projects, experiences that stir something in our souls and whet our appetite for the festival. Whether it’s a theater performance, dance, or the ideas that animate the festival’s conferences.

This year, FITS speaks through the edition’s motto about the gift of friendship, about the power of art to (re)build human bridges, especially those destroyed by wars, conflicts, prejudices. In the magazine, you will find a discussion with Pippo Delbono about the creative process of his shows. Tim Robbins talks about what true friendship means, and Jon Fosse tells us in how far the recent Nobel Prize he won has changed in his life. This year, we wanted to give voice to young directors, actors, dancers, who occupy a considerable part of the magazine. We know they are the voice of today’s generation, and their performances shape the theater of tomorrow.

The festival city, our Sibiu, is ready to write the 31st page in the notebook of friendship that the people in Constantin Chiriac’s team are preparing with the same dedication and passion for us, the spectators.
